Proactive Decision Support During Business Process Execution
نویسنده
چکیده
The execution of business processes produces lots of events that can be used by complex event processing systems to analyze and improve the processes. Typically, events are stored in an event log repository that can be used to identify meaningful patterns of events, such that it is possible to react to them during process execution. However, in many cases it is beneficial to deal with those events before they actually occur to avoid an undesirable outcome, e.g., machine failure or poor performance indicator. Therefore, we present a system architecture connecting the operation of a process engine with a proactive framework. The framework forecasts events, provides the best corresponding action and generates appropriate business rules that can be used by the process engine to make optimal decisions during process runtime. An elaborated example demonstrates the utility of our concept.

Live-Representation Process Management
We present the live-representation approach for managing and working in complex, dynamic business processes. In this approach, aspects of business-process modeling, project planning, project management, resource scheduling, and process automation, execution, and reporting are integrated into an on-line representation of planned and executing processes. This representation provides a real-time v...

Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL) is an XML-based language used to define business process and workflow logic. While its original purpose was to provide a method of linking several disparate business applications, we have found that BPEL provides several features and advantages that lend it to incorporation in a clinical decision support (CDS) rule engine.
متن کاملBusiness Process Simulation for Operational Decision Support
Contemporary business process simulation environments are geared towards design-time analysis, rather than operational decision support over already deployed and running processes. In particular, simulation experiments in existing process simulation environments start from an empty execution state. We investigate the requirements for a process simulation environment that allows simulation exper...

In this paper, we describe SAMARATM, a Security Agent-Based environment for security process design, management, and execution that integrates aspects of security process modeling, security assessment, and security management. SAMARA is targeted specifically to domains such as engineering security design in which the dynamic and uncertain nature of the security processes present management chal...

Thriving at work is an emerging phenomenon in recent times, which is defined as a psychological state in which individuals experience both the senses of vitality and learning. Researchers and practitioners are looking for ways to enhance the employee’s thriving at work, because it is associated with behavioral outcomes. The objective of this study is to empirically investigate the impact of con...
